As members of Team The KC Standard, we understand the value of supporting good causes in our community. Social impact has always been at the core of our company ethos. The holiday season is an especially inspiring time to give back, and we were honored to take part in the Adopt-A-Family program for the fifth year in a row.
Organized by Operation Breakthrough, the Adopt-A-Family program helps hundreds of families in the Kansas City region have a merrier Christmas. Donors contribute presents for kids, money for meals, and other gifts to less-fortunate families. The children who receive Christmas aid come from low-income situations, with some even going through homelessness. Many of the kids are in foster care due to how they’ve been abused or neglected in the past.
This is obviously an important cause to support, and doing so brought us closer together as teammates. We adopted two families in the Kansas City area this year, hopefully helping them enjoy the season a bit more. As we brought together the gifts for our adoptees, a feeling of gratitude washed over The KC Standard office. We’re happy to be able to share our success with people who are less fortunate, and we’re more inspired than ever to keep achieving big things.
We’re looking forward to ramping up our giveback efforts in 2019. Like The KC Standard on Facebook for updates on how we’re making an impact.
